What is the best way to accept credit card payments for my vacation rental home?
I have a rental house on Lake Huron and I would like to be able to accept credit card payments from my renters. This will all be done over the telephone so I have no need for a card swiper. I’m basically looking for the cheapest way to accept electronic payments then refund a deposit.
I would not take the information over the phone. It opens you up to too much liability. Use PayPal or another service where you can email an invoice or a link for the buyer to pay through the service. The buyer does not have to have a PayPal account. The renter can use Visa or Mastercard, and you can refund the deposit after the rental. However, you must make sure that the partial refund is completed within a certain time period (I think 60 days) in order to do the refund.
We’ve used PayPal for several years in order to avoid the monthly minimum fees by some of the processors.

Includes puncturing unit with plastic sleave, standard coalescing/carbon filter, anti-static wire and goggles Changes aersol cans from hazardous waste to a non-hazardous, recyclable stateComplies with EPA 40 CFR 261.23(a)6Safe, convenient and compliant, Justrite Aerosolv Aerosol Can Disposal System provides an easy-to-use, effective method of relieving pressure in spent aerosol cans. It changes them from solid hazardous waste to a non-hazardous, fully recyclable state. This eliminates the expense of solid waste disposal of aerosol cans. Every 100 cans punctured and emptied by Aerosolv increases recyclable scrap metal by 25 lb. and reduce solid waste by 10 cubic feet, making Aerosolv extremely cost effective! Are you still no convinced? As an added benefit, residual liquids may be eligible for reclamation or recycling, resulting in waste minimization credits. The contents of over 4,000 spent aerosols may be collected in just one 55-gallon drum. The puncturing unit, which depressurizes empty aerosol cans, is made of low maintenance aircraft aluminum and threads into the 2″ bung of a standard 55-gallon drum. and all moving parts are 308 stainless steel. It accepts series 200, 300 and 6 oz. cans and no power source is needed, so you can place this anywhere! Simply insert inverted can, tighten sliding plate to engage, and press handle to pierce a smooth edged hole into the dome of the can. Carbide-tipped piercing pin withstands repeated use with no visible signs of wear after puncturing 10,000 aerosol cans. The combination coalescing/carbon filter threads into the .75″ drum bung and is comprised of two parts. The lower coalescing portion removes airborne liquids while the replaceable, upper activated carbon portion adsorbs hydrocarbons and odor. How can I accept credit card transactions in foreign currencies?
Is there any way to accept credit card transactions in foreign currencies (such as GBP and EUR) through our website and have the funds converted to USD to be deposited into our account?
I wanted to see if any real people had some advice before I contacted the company who handles our online transactions.
Yes. It is possible with certain processors. You will be charged a currency exchange fee or intl card fee somewhere around 0.3%. If they charge a higher fee than that, I would look elsewhere.
The major ingredient here is wether or not your processor can handle surrency conversion. It will also take longer for international credit card sales to be funded into your account.
There are several companies that will walk you through the process.

How can i accept credit cards for my small business im trying to start?
I run a screenprinting business, but im trying to make a website, and i need to be able to accept creditcards, but i cant get the system to work right, when customers buy something, i get all the information i need, so how can i use that to charge them to my bank account? do i go threw my bank and set something up with them?
Basically, how do i charge them with only there credit card information and there order info. i know it can be done, but how do i do it?
Yes. Contact your bank and ask them about setting up a merchant account to accept and receive credit cards. You can also do a search online for other companies that will set up a merchant account for you.
Different companies charge different rates to process credit cards. Compare and contrast those rates and find the best one to suit your needs.
Keep in mind that certain cards charge a set amount for every transaction while others charge a percentage. You may not want to accept every credit card. Because you're a small business, you may initially want to keep yourself limited to just accepting Visa/Mastercard.

What is the best way to accept credit card payments online?
I am looking accept credit card payments online, from your experience what is the best service to have do this. I am looking for reliability, cost and service. What are the fees for these services as well.
Paypal seems like an opt out. If it is the best why, and what are their fees.
Customers can use their credit card or bank account (where available) with paypal even if they don't have an account with them. Paypal is a safe and secure way for your customers to make purchases online. I use paypal on ebay and for all other online shopping. I also use it for my online websites.
Another great one to try is 2checkout, I have used them as a customer but have not yet added them to my websites.
Hope that helps to answer your question.
