Suzanne Summers had breast cancer and according to all reports, she is cancer-free now. (She was diagnosed in 2001). I would like to know what alternative cancer treatment she received? My sister has breast cancer and we are looking at alternative treatments. Thanks!

I agree with quijjibored; most people who make claims for miraculous cancer 'cures' have also had conventional treatment but claim - and believe - that it was an alternative treatment they also took that did the trick. This is apparently the case with Suzanne Summers.

Please bear in mind that the word 'alternative' in this context means 'unproven'. If a medicine has been tested and proven to work, it is no longer 'alternative medicine' it is just 'medicine'.

Wherever there's cancer there are people eager to part desperate people from their cash in exchange for ineffective and sometimes dangerous treatments.

If you are tempted by any particular 'alternative', please do a search on http://www.quackwatch.org for some facts before investing money, hope and (most dangerous of all) time in something that will not work and will delay effective treatment.

There is no way that Suzanne Summers or any other breast cancer patient can know that they are 'cancer-free' - breast cancer can recur at any time, even years after diagnosis and treatment.

Conventional treatment isn't perfect, far from it, but we know - because it has been rigourously tested and proven in double-blind, peer-reviewed clinical trials - that it saves many lives and prolongs many more. No 'alternative' treatment has been tested and proven in this way.

I sympathise with your wish to pursue less traumatic alternatives; when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 I was something of an alternatives enthusiast. Nobody was going to give ME chemotherapy! I researched thoroughly and in the space of a month had changed my mind, realising that alternative treatments were not only ineffective but a multi-million pound industry out to take my money.

Summers apparently decided against chemo; I know people who have done this and in every case their cancer was low grade and early stage - having looked into it they decided the benefits of chemo in their particular cases were not worth it. This is the sort of information you do not have about Summers' cancer - its stage and grade, how many lymph nodes affected - factors she will have taken into consideration before declining chemo and that her doctors will have taken into consideration before deciding how strongly to recommend chemo.

I had stage 3 grade 3 breast cancer, with 13 lymph nodes involved (that's aggressive, late stage and likely to spread). I had surgery, chemo , radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Over four years after diagnosis I am fit and well, with no sign of cancer at my most recent routine check-up.

My mother is a case of stage IV throat (oropharynx) cancer and has completed 9 rounds of chemotherapy and 40 rounds of radiotherpy? She is unable to eat anything due to the side effects of radio therapy and of course the cancer present in the oropharynx part. Apricot seeds and b17 saved my fathers life. Dx in January with stage 4 stomach cancer to the liver,my dad was not given much hope. Five months later after 1 bag of apricot seeds and 2 bottles of b17 my dad is cancer free. The doctors are stunned, they dont know what to say. The stomach and liver are totally clean. He did have 5 treatments of chemo each 3 weeks apart but I dont credit the chemo at all. Even his kidney doctor is amazed. He told my dad that his kidney function is the best its ever been in the 13 years that he has had diabetes.
The reason there is no scientific evidence for alternative treatments is that they are not highly profitable to big pharma. It is impossible by law for a substance to be considered to have scientific evidence unless big pharma submits it to the FDA,and they will only submit things that are very very profitable to them. So the many thousands of studies of natural substances that have cured or treated cancer are ignored by our government because they were not done under the control of big pharma.
Since most alternative cancer treatments are very inexpensive and non-patentable,they do not provide the cancer industry with a single penny of revenue so they are relatively obscure.

The ONLY treatment I’ve ever seen work (and work often!) is the Immuno Augmentive Therapy (IAT) Clinic in Freeport Grand Bahamas. They are run by British and Bahamian medical doctors, and are in my opinion by far the best alternative cancer treatment center in the world.
For some reason, their treatment (small injections you take several times a day containing immune system proteins) works especially well with mesothelioma, and they are well known for treating it, and often get referrels from Stateside and British MD.s.

I don't know a whole lot about ESSIAC, however, if you're looking for an alternative cancer treatment, then look into Himalayan Goji juice from Freelife. The goji berry itself is high in antioxidents. What ends up happening is the juice will balance your PH levels and increase your alkaline level so your body is no longer acidic and cancer cannot survive.

I personally know of two people with cancer who have taken this and now neither of them have cancer anymore. The one guy was given 6 months to live and started taking the Goji juice, with an increase in recommended dossage, and withing 90 days there was no trace of cancer anymore. It takes at least 90 days for the body to completely flush itself out, but sometimes some people see results within only a couple days. This is good for all different health issues.
