My bf is touring in europe, he has an american phone and number with an international plan, and a device that supports european mobile networks. Unfortunately we cant call each other, but we can text. I called customer support… they were not helpful.

To call a US number she'll have to dial +1-XXX-YYY-ZZZZ. Note the plus and the country code before the 10-digit number. The cost will be $.99/min if the international rate package you subscribed to is “AT&T World Traveler”, $1.29/min otherwise. Texting will only cost more for outgoing ($.50), incoming messages are billed the same as domestically.

I currently have a plan that I got about 3 to 4 years ago when it was cingular, so I have a sim card that says its a 64k smartchip. But I am wondering if I were to but a new att phone today would it work with the sim card that I have?
It most likely will unless the new phone is locked to ATT use only and doesn’t recognize the older Cingular sIm. Because they merged it can probably be used in the newer phone. Cell phone carriers that sell phones requiring sims usually lock their phones so they can only use their own company’s sims. If you have been with a carrier for a while they will usually provide you with the code to unlock the new phone if it is required.

I have a ATT cell phone and i have free ATT calling. Can i call ATT homes phones for free too?
Unfortunately not. ATT Wireless and the ATT Home service are separate entities. Same thing happens with Verizon… While it would be very nice to be able to do this, at this point ATT does not have an option to support this feature.

My ATT cell phone came with one ringtone that actually sounds like a found. I would like some more and don't want to pay for any gimmicks where you eventually pay a monthly fee for junk you don't want.
