I hate to tell you, but there is no "best" ……there all have there ups and downs…..that's the nature of VoIP…I have been very happy with mine….I feel almost embarrassed to say, but it took me about a week of working together with my ISP laying a totally separate line just for my phone, all the way from the curb of the house….its was free…if you go online voip forum, you will see 50% love it, and the rest hate it!! sometimes I wonder if the voip companies just want you to sign you up, so they can charge ppl the high disconnection fees!!! I got Packet8…

I think it's called "number portability"?? I am not fully satisfied with my VOIP phone service so I was thinking of switching back to a land line phone but need to keep my phone number and fax number, is this possible??

Unless LNP (local number portablility) was excluded in your contract with the VOIP company, then yes you can take it with you. I am curious, which company?

I understand the cost is lower, but how about reliabilty and quality? Also, our internet is through the phone company so how does that affect the price? Thanks! (We use Skpe for international calls but I don't know about domestic calls.)

why dont you take a look at MagicJack!!!
