What is the best hair dye I can get at the drug store for dry damaged hair? I tryied to dye my hair dark brown with purple streaks about a month ago and it turned out dark with silver streaks. Now my hair is dead and dry and I just want my normal brown hair back. I don’t have the money to go to the salon and get it done. Help please!

Henna or Garnier. both work great and they don't damage hair and keep it looking soft and healthy. trust me these 2 brands are really good and i use them all the timee

I have thin straight brown hair. I use a fair amount of hairspray to keep the tiny hairs from sticking out of my head but I feel like sometimes it leaves some of my hair really hard. I've tried Aussie and it's great and smells good. What other products would you guys reccommend for my straight hair that don't leave it really hard and smell good and are cheap?

I've been using herbal essences for 8 years and it makes my hair smell REALLY good! All of their stuff, hairsprays, shampoos, conditioners, etc is fragrant.

I have been dying my hair for two years and I've done just about every unnatural color, color combination, color placement, etc. Right now, my hair is about the length of the hair in my avatar (a bit longer, and more hair in the back), bleach blonde, and verrryyy damaged due to all of the bleaching I have done. I want to grow my hair out naturally again, so I'm planning to cut it alllll off and start over. But before I do, I want to go out with a bang–rainbow hair.

**My question is, how do I dye (from root to tip):
red
orange
yellow
green
blue
(possible turquoise)
purple
without the colors running together? I am willing to take as many steps as possible, and I've already realized it'll probably take me the better part of my day. With the length of my hair, it'll probably be 1 - 1.5 inches of each color.

I WILL be picking a best answer! Thanks!!

This is going to be quite the procedure. I would recommend having a professional do it.

If you're going to go ahead and do it yourself I would start at the nape of your neck and go upwards. Using a color thickener to keep the hair color from dripping apply it with a brush. Comb through each section after you get done applying. You can help to keep the colors separated by using foil pressed tighly along the part inbetween colors. You can also use cotton.

I dyed my hair on Sunday February 12, 2006. I am unhappy with my hair color that the dye colored it. School pictures are next week, and I want my normal hair color back. Please help me! Is there an inexpensive and safe way to do this without harming me and my hair?

Hm.. that depends if it's permanent.
You could re-dye it another color for the pics.. but I don't beleive you can get your original color back. =/ You could dye it close to your original hair!
