How has the internet influenced the formulation of your own identity? Have you taken advantage of the fact that the internet allows us to be who we want to be? Have you ever experienced the issues that surround this? (Such as meeting someone that is not who they say they are)

Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

i’m kinda the same on and off the internet really…no, i’m not stupid enough to meet anyone off the internet.

I have the Fios router connected to the computer with internet. An ethernet cable coming out of the router that plugs into the ethernet plug in the back of the other computer. From there how do I set it up so that I can get internet onto other computer

Verizon FiOS doesn't restrict how many computers you have (well, they do but they don't - the limit is rediculessly high).

You should be able to just get another etherenet cable (if you don't have one) and plug it into another LAN port (there are about 4 of these) and it will work.

Note, the LAN port is different from the WAN port. Do not use the WAN port.

Just for reference, the router (ActionTec) will have these ports:
LAN x4 (what your computers connect to)
WAN Eithernet (may be used on some installs)
WAN MoCA (TV cable - used on most installs)
…and the wireless antenna

The other routers will have the same thing but no WAN MoCA connection.

I have one laptop. No phone.Need internet service and am willing to purchase cell phone service for primary purpose of setting up internet service for laptop.
How is this done? How much dose it co$t?Whats best inexpensive plan?

This is very expensive. Verizon, Cingular and Sprint offer these PC cards. They will cost $50 with a 2-year agreement. If you want to do it without a contract, then it will be $200 for the PC Card. As for the plans, for unlimited data, it is about $80 - $100. I don't think the limited data is worth it, unless you do not plan to use it much.

In addition, recently in press release, Cingular is getting UMTS (3.5G technology) set-up by January 2007. You will be able to get 3.5Mbps speed from GTOption's PC Card.

I have two computer, the other doesn’t have a Lan Card and the other one has an Internet connection on it.. How do I setup an Internet connection? I heard that you need a router and a LAN Card for the other one, but what are the steps?

a cheaper way to do this is equip both computers with LAN Cards, use a ‘cross’ connection LAN Cable…

I just saw the new internet south park and I wonder: what would we do without internet?

depends on your question. I mean if the Internet were all the sudden gone, it would have a huge impact on the world… maybe certain individuals would be able to live fine without it… but if you are asking what it it never came into existence.. well things would be different. I personally think people would be more appreciate of life because they actually have to LIVE not just sit in front on a screen.

I need to restrict internet access to just a few websites at ~20 locations. The locations are retail stores that need internet access to HR websites and company websites, but I don't want them surfing the internet.
The stores have connections back to one point (a sonicwall firewall/router) which is where they gain their internet access. I would like to keep from having to travel to each store to change settings on each computer. Is there anyway we could limit internet access in this way.

Use your firewall to restrict them. How long have you been administrating this?
