I left my laptop at work for the family long weekend in a closed office and only 3 people have the key.My manager me and this girl that works with me.My manager did not have a work computer for me so he asked me to bring in my laptop should they reimburse me for it?And if they did would it be proper for them to reimburse me the full amount or the amount my laptop would be worth now?

If they asked you to use your own, I would say yep, they're responsible. Did you file a police report? Usually for thefts, it's based on what you paid for it. Provide them with receipts, and any software or hardware upgrades you paid for.

The laptop is wireless. I have installed the printer on the laptop which clearly shows it. I leave the main computer on then press print on the laptop. It comes up with an error message. The laptop uses Vista, the main computer uses XP. I don’t want to use wires and the printer can’t be connected to the router via an ethernet cable. Is there a way to do what I am trying to do or do Vista and XP clash?

make sure that the systems are networked together and that you installed the link layer discovery update (or SP3) to your XP machine. This can be found at

Also, check your firewall settings on the vista machine and set it to allow communications with the print spooler service.

The graphics card in the laptop (Dell Inspiron) allows a TV output but switches off it's own monitor when it does so. I need one program displayed on the laptops monitor, and another program displayed on a remote monitor. Is this possible and what equipment is needed?

You should be able to get the built-on monitor and the external monitor to work both at the same time
(Fnct + F8) (press this combination 2 or 3 times)
but both will show the same screen. You can't show a different program on each screen. I believe MS Windows calls this "Focus".
