Insurance companys give cars a rating number to determine if one type of car pays more insurance then the other. Where can I find out what the number of my car would be?
no company is gonna give that to you…then youll know how they rate you…i work for an insurance company and we are STRICTLY prohibited form revealing your cars rating system…i can tell you this…think about logically…a brand new 2007 BENZ is going to be more expansive than a 1982 Civic (logic)…an SUV/truck can cause more damage than a reg 4 door sedan/coupe (2 vehicles are traveling at 50 mph, one weighs 5 tons, the other weighs 12 tons, they both hit the same car/object. which one wll cause more damage?…you do the math…) so they are more expensive to insure…its MOSTLY based on your driving history (tickets and accidents), annual miles driven (liability exposure, more driving=more chances for an accident) driving experience and the vehicle you drive…hope this helps
How do I find out my cars auto insurance points rating system?

Cars: If you get into an accident and the only damage is a cracked fender how bad was the accident?
I am buying a 07 Monte Carlo LT. The man I am buying it from said it is a fun car to drive but he cracked the fender. The fender has been replaced but I'm a little concerned about the car.
How bad of an accident do you need to get into to crack a fender.
Also Even though it was replaced cars are never the same after they have been in an accident.. Would you still buy this car, or search for another 07 Monte.
Thanks in Advance.
It depends. A cracked fender could have been backing into something pretty hard (or driving into something if it's the front), it could have been hitting a dog or a deer or other large animal, or it could have been a more serious accident in which everything was basically rebuilt. There's not really a way to know unless you take it somewhere and have a mechanic check the engine and other parts (oil pan leaking, etc.).

What to do with two cars to get a lower payment?
I have two cars and I owe 8,000 on a 2002 fully-loaded mazda protege and then I owe 17000 + have a 2005 fully load toyota celica. I really would like to simplify things and get a cheaper car payment. Its kinda of hard for me now to keep up with the maintance. I would like some opitions other then sell the mazda personally and trade in the celica. I was thinking about buying a used car and then trading both of them at the same time. Please give me some input.
maybe you should consider trading down to save you money on the payments.
Using hybrid cars is one of the ways to prevent global warming?
Its is a known fact that cars are one of the major contribution for green house gases. So recently the car manufactures come up with a new Eco friendly car, which is the hybrid cars. So my question is, if the global population adopt to hybrid car, can global warming be prevented?
http://preventglobalwarming.brighterplanet.org/
No. Hybrids are a step in the right direction, but while they emit less CO2, they still burn gasoline and they still emit carbon dioxide, which causes global warming.
If everyone drove a hybrid instead of a regular gas car, we would reduce worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, but not nearly enough to stop global warming.
Electric cars would reduce emissions even further, although they also are responsible for some CO2 emissions because some of our power comes from coal power plants, and burning coal emits CO2 as well. However, electric cars create less CO2 emissions than even hybrids.
In addition to switching to hybrids and electric cars, we need to take more steps. For example, becoming more energy efficient, swithing to renewable power plants and getting rid of coal power plants, biking and using public transportation, etc.

What kind of cars can you tow behind a motor home?
My husband delivers motor homes for a living and needs a reliable car to tow behind for return trips home. He doesn't want to have to disconnect the driveshaft each time as you have to do on some cars, or use a two wheel dolly. This would be for flat towing. Thanks!
Almost any car with a manual transmission will work . However, if he wants an automatic there are limitations on how many miles it can be towed safely without damaging the transmission .Many chose Saturn because they can be towed more miles than most because of the design of their transmission .
My husband is into cars. What are good sites that I can look at to read up and add to the conversation?
My husband is into cars. Nice cars, fast cars, new cars… He talks about drifting and racing but also just the cars that we pass by on the street. Their stats and price and whatever else.
I'd like to be able to impress him with some additional info, mostly on the nice cars we may be passing by on the road.
What are good webistes or forums to keep me up to date with new, nice cars so I can add to the conversation?
A great website for performance car fans is pistonheads.com. The forum is massive with a lot of serious petrol heads talking about all types of fast/fun cars. The website also reviews new cars coming out so you will be able to brush up on the stats and facts. A few hours perusing that site should give you some decent info to impress your husband.
What shear-thickening material is found in cars or is related to cars?
A shear-thickening material is what you get when you mix cornstarch with water. It forms that colloid material. I need to find out what material in cars is shear thickening. Does anyone that knows a lot about cars know what part of the car is like this?
I just need to know this for biology class. It's for extra credit.
My answer would be that the shocks would qualify because if you hit a small bump they react far less than they do if you hit a larger bump. therefore they react much like the cornstarch mixture in that if you slowly attempt to compress the material they allow you to and if you try to move it too much too fast they resist substantially more. Shocks can be either gas charged or hydraulic they both work the same way with baffles and wadding to slow the compression down
